The above STV News video is not attributed to this project, but gives a bit of back story to the reason ArchaeoLink shut down.
It was a blow to not only the local Aberdeenshire community (and the wider North East Scotland) for youth, families and adults, but also heritage crafts and education.
This crowdfunder is the kindling to set off a campaign to crowdfund for the acquisiton of the land available at ArchaeoLink.
By donating, you will show that you care, as we build interest and get the message out there that we want to resurrect ArchaeoLink, but through a viable business model that is environmentally friendly and inclusive.
This model will be through an eco-heritage themed glamping site. The number of glamping pods will be limited, out of respect for the local area. Early backers will gain certain opportunities to reserve these (details to be announced in round 2).
First, as part of round 1, we aim to raise funds to get the word out there. To prove there is interest in this idea, and find our tribe, all across the world, to resurrect ArchaeoLink into the now.
We believe its setting in a beautiful part of North East Scotland will be a fantastic tourist getaway and retreat, while also opening up community education about the ancient past, by reinvigorating the sprit of ArchaeoLink. This may be through engagement with youth, diverse communities, creatives and volunteers who rebuild the ancient buildings that ArchaeoLink was once award-winning for. The PreClan will be the first who have the opportunity to share ideas as this vision is conceived, and the first to be updated with progress and new opportunities as plans unfold.
Join our PreClan, and resurrect abandoned ArchaeoLink from its roots, bringing the fascination of the past back to the now for everyone to enjoy and learn from.
This round will fund the marketing required to give ArchaeoLink the voice it needs to reach those who believe in its core spirit, whether it be through social media, ads, conferences, campaigns, posters or flyers. It will also create the PreClan of ArchaeoLink - a unique community in itself.
