Aim: Helps us to empower young people to respect and protect wildlife
ABOUT US
Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital provides care and rehabilitation to sick, injured or orphaned wildlife casualties, with the aim to get them healthy for release. Starting from humble beginnings in 1971 we have grown into one of the largest wildlife hospitals in the South of the UK. We undergo our vital work with care and compassion to ensure natural habitats are thriving with healthy wildlife.
The recently released State of Nature Report, highlighting that the UK continues to be one of the nature depleted countries, is an alarming indicator that we need to do all we can to help conserve wildlife.
Being a well-respected source of wildlife casualty care and knowledge for over 50 years, Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital plays a vital role in mitigating many of the issues surrounding wildlife decline - we focus on wildlife rehabilitation, conservation, education, and community engagement.
Your generosity can help us;
What is the need for our work?
Wildlife in the UK faces a decline due to various interconnected factors. Habitat loss, pollution, and climate change disrupts ecosystems and alters the distribution of species.
Nature is struggling - with over 70 species of bird on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and our beloved hedgehog is at risk of extinction - we must do more to protect precious wildlife.
We are committed to raising awareness about the natural world and wildlife conservation through educational programmes and workshops. Through our programme we are actively engaging with young people and community groups, to empower individuals to make informed choices to safeguard the environment.
We have growing interest from local schools and community groups to deliver workshops and talks about the natural world. We now need to expand our Outreach Programme to keep up with demand.
What is our Outreach Project all about!
Your support could help us bridge the gap between the class room and nature-based learning. By educating young people about local wildlife, ecosystems, and the effects of climate change, we inspire the next generation to take proactive steps in conservation and sustainability. Through interactive learning and hands-on activities, individuals gain a deeper understanding of how their actions can directly influence the environment.
£10 could provide a wildlife inspired workshop to a group of 10 students
£25 could help us purchase essential outdoor learning equipment
£30 could fund an assembly to a school group
We have pledged a target of reaching over 800 young people and community members. Excelling in the number of visits already booked is an encouraging indicator that the programme is going fulfil its desired aim.
Your support could make a real difference to the future of our precious wildlife!
