Building a RESEED Community Centre in Somaliland

Aim
Rasie £7500 to build a community centre for agricultural training, clean cooking and other community events
MedicineAfrica and LanderProsopis are working together on the RESEED project
Aiming to take an invasive species and turn in into a utiliisable product whilst clearing it from the land and replanting native species
However, rising petrol costs and the costs of living is making our work more expensive than ever. Each dat requires a 3-4hr round trip accorss dangerous roads to reach Darrassalum where our project is working.
We want to establish and build a community centre that woudl facilitate the taining of local people and allow us to keep our team on site. We would also openup this centre for use by ecologists and other patners running a projects of societal benefit like clean cooking.
We also have access to a solar powered TV so we can use the centre to show the locla community public health videos and training videos.
For a small investment we can make a huge difference to a small community suffering from drought and poverty. We believe this community based model is one that can scale and working with the Somaliland Ministry of the Environment we would be able to establish more training hubs in the future along the same model.
