Aviva Community Fund has provided £950 of match funding
To cover the cost of our monthly repair events and expand their reach so that we can keep as many things as possible out of landfills!
Thanks for checking out our fundraiser 👋
Here is the quick version: We fix things, for free, at monthly community events across various Norwich locations. Donations help us improve our tools, our reach, ways we can thank our amazing volunteers, and our ability to continue this movement for a long time!
To build a sustainable future for Norwich by reducing waste and creating a community of people who care!
Once every month, we set up shop at community centres and other gathering spaces across Norwich and host Repair Café events, during which we:
🔨 Try to repair pretty much anything people bring in - for free (donations welcome)
💪 Show people how the repairs work and teach them new skills
🍰 Serve super affordable delicious home-made cakes & hot drinks
💬 Chat with people about sustainability, upcycling & more
All of this is done by a fantastic crew of volunteers who organise the events and all of our operations beyond, such as our admin, finances, socials, and other bits.
Repair Café Norwich is:
Repair Cafés have been around in other cities around the world for years and we've been inspired by how such a simple concept can lead to so much waste reduction!
We funded Norwich Repair Café in November 2022.
Since then, we have...
📅 Hosted 14 events and planned 7 more for 2024
🛠️ Looked at over 600 items, repaired over 400 of them and gave repair or upcycling advice for much of the rest
💪 Grown from 3 founding members to a community of over 30 volunteers
📌 Planned events at 9 different locations across Norwich

We want to continue hosting monthly events for the rest of the year and continue to do so in 2025. We're also hoping to get more equipment & spare part to have a better chance at fixing things on the day.
It's important to us to reach an even wider range of people and have them visit our events.
We'd love to grow our community of volunteers: repairers and organisers/admins alike. And it would be great if we could also give back a little and help them help us!
Lastly, we'd love to forge stronger partnerships with like-minded organisations and businesses.
🏫 We can pay for the venues where we host our events
⚒️ We'll be able to buy new useful tools and spare-parts, refill our stocks and much more
📢 We could invest in more marketing materials and campaigns to reach a wider audience of people who need our help. Almost everyone who has joined us told us they'll be back next time with more items - but they have to hear about us first!
🎁 We would love to give back to our volunteers and maybe invite them to a big thank-you event at the end of the year
There are many ways to support us!
