Heavy Sound transforms the lives of vulnerable and disengaged people across East Lothian, Midlothian and Edinburgh improving their health, wellbeing and capability by teaching them new skills in music, biking, sports, life skills and mentoring, leading them to positive pathways to future destinations.
The Crib (Community Reach & Inclusion Bus) is a 40ft single decker bus converted by residents of HMP Edinburgh. It is designed to reach and engage with some of societies most marginalised groups. On board there was a creative learning space, music studio, office space, kitchen space and a hairdressing unit. It was supported by the VRU, SPS, and the STV Children’s Appeal.
The Crib had a full calendar of events to attend this summer but unfortunately it has been vandalised and needs considerable repair work to be carried out before it is back in action. Funds raised will go towards repairing the bus. Anything over and above will help pay for bus project costs such as storage costs and the community activities we run from the bus. In the event that the bus is irreparable funds will go towards a replacement bus.
