We hope to be back soon face to face scouting so we will purchase adult and children...
Upgrade our meeting hut, buy equipment to provide safety and comfort of 60 young people involved in scouting and equipment for safe camping.
Scouting has been in our village since around 1950. The current hut was build from old World War 2 army hut in 1986. The building requires renovation and the upgrading of electrical items to ensure it is safe and secure.

We have the full backing from all the parents of the young people, volunteer leaders and Executive Committee. We also have the support of the wider community, Parish Council and past members of the Group.
Members of the Scout Group consisting of 50-60 young people aged between 6 years to 14 years of age. We have 20 Adult volunteers as leaders and assistants.

The hut is used by our local table tennis club players once a week and also up to 25 young children from local nursery forest school meet when the weather outside is poor.
Our Project
The project has been set up to provide a safe and comfortable environment to continue our scouting activities. To provide a safe base to teach young people life skills, to provide a varied, challenging and fun programme throughout the year and engage them with the local community.

It will also provide the Group with safe and reliable equipment whilst involved in outdoor activities and camping. During the summer months we try to get the young people out as much as we can taking part in exciting challenges and they all love camping out in the wild.

Our Aim
We want to replace our old water heater with a new safer over sink water heater, replace our old glass type fluorescent lights with new safer and more efficient LED strip lights and fit a security safety sensor exterior entrance light for the scout hut enabling the approach to the hut to be illuminated and ensure that young people arriving and leaving the hut during the darker evenings can do safely .
The total for purchasing these items will be £618.08

Camping Equipment
Our young people love the outdoors and we like to give them the opportunity to experience this safely. We will using the money received to buy:
The total of our project is £1293.01

Why Is This Project so Important?
There has been a Scout Group in the village for about 70 years and up to 60 young people from the village and surrounding communities meet weekly to learn new skills and take part in exciting, challenging fun activities.

A fantastic team of adult volunteers give hours of their own time to ensure that scouting continues and the young people achieve many life skills that will help them throughout their lives.

By receiving this grant and your donations we will be able to provide a safer environment for the young people and also become more environmentally friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and assist us in achieving our goal and allowing us to continue to carry on scouting for many years to come.
