Renovating Our Rabbit Village!

Aim

Bunnies often spend longer in rehoming centres, we aim to make their stay with us as happy and comfortable as possible.

Seen in the image above are some of our wonderful residents! 

For this Crowdfunder appeal we aim to raise money for some much needed improvements to our rabbit village.

Rabbits are often overlooked and neglected pets, frequently arriving to us in terrible condition, with poor diet and from bleak living conditions. The needs of rabbits are often undervalued and misunderstood, leading to their welfare and happiness being compromised. 

In addition to this, bunnies often spend longer in rehoming centres, therefore it is key that we make their stay with us as happy and comfortable as possible.

The original vision for our Rabbit Village was to ensure that we are meeting the physical and social needs of our resident bunnies, and we feel there is still work to be done to meet it's full potential. Here are some examples of the improvements we are looking to make:

- Building shelves and platforms in their outdoor run for them to provide them with exciting spaces to explore. 

- Growing and planting rabbit safe vegetables and herbs around the village for the rabbits to enjoy as and when they please.

- Repairing some damaged or broken radiators.

- Installing wall mounted fans to help cool down the houses in Summer time.

- Materials for expanding and improving our rabbit runs for access and enjoyment all year round. 

- A variety of enrichment for them to play with and destroy!

- Information boards for visitors (whether this be for adoptions or during open days) to ensure we are delivering key education messaging about the welfare of rabbits.
