Support the development of renewable energy sources for a garden centre working with people with learning disabilities.
NEET is a social enterprise supporting opportunities for people with a learning disability to lead inclusive and fulfilling lives. NEET does this through a range of outdoor based activities including horticulture, conservation, woodwork and cookery.
Members of the NEET team have recently taken part in accessible and creative research workshops led by Mind the Gap Performance and Live Arts Company. The aim was to make sustainability initiatives more inclusive and find out what people with learning disabilities know about climate change, what people think is important and their ideas for action.
As a result of this work we decided to promote and support joint action to reduce our carbon footprint and secure a sustainable energy future for NEET.
We aim to research, source and install alternative energy sources. Develop a new approach, product or technology, perhaps implement a new initiative.
With the money we raise, the whole team at NEET will be involved in the planning, research, decision making, procurement and instillation of chosen alternative energy source/s at our NEET garden centre.
