Use this space to give your audience a friendly introduction to your organisation.
We are a team of 18 volunteers who provide food baskets to approximately 250 families each week. We collect from 10 supermarkets each day alongside a farm & warehouse run each week. We offer in addition a food club facility where community members can purchase 8 items for £3 to help address the cost of living crisis. We want to Offer a Drop in facility to help those struggling with cost of living and can also help with free court appeals for benefits, hmrc and home office visas. We would also like to deliver our repurpose workshops provide skills around cooking, sewing and furniture painting to encourage reuse in the home and to reduce household costs.
It’s important to explain the wider impact of your organisation for the whole community, who does it benefit and why?
We provide a wider impact in everything we do daily to collect food waste from 10 supermarkets, store and share it with the community the next day. We support all local people as many are struggling with the same issues. These may come from local referrals such as GP practices, local council, foodbank or other community organisations. We have provided weekly workshops over the years which provide an opportunity for the community to relax, chat and find solutions to their problems. In addition, we will provide workshops that reuse and repurpose and are of use in their daily activities. We focus mainly on cooking sessions, sewing classes, furniture painting classes and digital assistance. This could be help with court appeals such as Universal Credit, PiP, divorce applications etc and home office visas.

This is where you should explain the reason you need to raise money. How is your organisation or community impacted by the cost of living crisis?

It’s important to be transparent about how you plan to spend the money you raise. Your audience will be more likely to make a pledge if they can see how their donation will help.
The funding will support additional costs for the centre to deliver the project including electricity, hot food and food bags for families to take away. We aim to deliver the project weekly as currently our volunteers don’t have quality time to spend with the 220 individuals and families we support each week.
stretch funding will pay for the delivery of the workshops supporting tutor costs, materials and resources so they are completely free to local people.. for those donating £50 and gaining a free workshop - this will be arranged separately ????
