Relocate The Scrum

Aim

Due to flooding damage, we have to relocate!

A very popular local business is seeking the support of the community to find funding for the deposit and fit out on new premises following a second incidence of flooding. 

The Scrum Gaming Lounge is currently located at 15 Sheep Street in Rugby town centre. It has been open for just over a year, during which time it has received rave reviews from locals and visitors to the town alike.

The business, which remains a first for Rugby, holds a range of popular gaming evenings from Dungeons and Dragons to Yu-Gi-Oh! Pokemon TCG and Warhammer 40k as well as providing the cheapest and widest range of cards and gaming peripherals in the Town. 

Unfortunately, The Scrum recently had to close due to a second incidence of flooding leaving us with little choice but to seek an alternative venue in Rugby as repairs from the first incident in December are still not complete.

“I started the Scrum as a gaming venue, community hub and mental health check-in place and it’s grown from there. It’s been great to see the shop filled with so many happy gamers, young and old, playing their favourite board and card games over the last year. Together, we have created something quite special! 

“Unfortunately, the situation I am in now: having to close for the second time in 4 months due to flooding and with limited efforts from my landlord to rectify the situation, means I am left with no choice but to find an alternative venue. This means finding a deposit and fitting out a new venue.” 

The Scrum is an Official Tournament Store for Yu-Gi-Oh and an Official Pokémon League Store, which will continue. 

We're hoping that everyone who has enjoyed visiting the Scrum over the last year and the people of Rugby, will get behind us and give whatever they are able to make our dreams of a new, permanent venue a reality.

This project successfully funded on 8th May 2024
