Aim

To raise funds to pay to for the professional reports needed to effectively fight this unwanted application

The Battle for Blackheath Needs Your Help.

In January 2026 we scored a major victory in stopping the development from going through at committee stage. The council deferred the decision, asking for more information on the market operations, the use of the car park and the economic impact on the village. Things are moving again and the final decision will be made either on the 6th October or the 11th November (we're waiting to find out).

Many of us have put a huge amount of time and effort into the campaign for free but sometimes we've needed to involve professionals. Independent reports, specialist legal advice, planning consultant evidence summaries, powerful CGI visuals, economic impact reports, parking reports and heritage reports are all very costly but essential if we are to challenge effectively the developer's evidence.

At the moment, in total we have commitments of over £24,000. Thanks to some amazing businesses, institutions and residents, some of this we have covered but we desperately need to raise £20,000 to pay for the below:

£2,400 - Legal advice

£5,460 - DCC Planning (consultant)

£1,152 - Heritage Unlimited (consultant)

£2,000 - CGIs and renders

£14,988 - Parking consultant, market layout & fire safety report, economic impact study (all to be published shortly - we'll post a link as soon as they are)

We urgently need you to help us with the final push to save Blackheath from this damaging and unwanted development right in the heart of the village.

Please donate today and help us win The Battle for Blackheath.

Let's try to set a precedent here to show that a united community can push back on unwanted, commercially-driven developments that do nothing to benefit our communities and everything to damage them. It could be your town, village or community next.

Thank you for your support.

PS - If you have not objected or need to object again (which everybody needs to do even if you have objected before since this is a reconsultation) please use this link - it only takes a minute.

Image Disclaimer: These illustrative renders were commissioned to help show the relationship between John Ball School and the proposed Block C building, as equivalent views showing the relationship between the school and Block C are not included within the applicant’s published visual material. The images have been prepared by an independent architectural professional using a professionally produced 3D massing model derived from the publicly available planning drawings. Care has been taken to represent the proposed scale, massing and visual impact of the development as accurately and fairly as possible. They are intended to assist understanding of the proposals and should be viewed as indicative rather than fully verified representations of the final scheme.
