Who are we and what are we doing?

Our Working Group is made up of serving Parish Councillors and committed local residents. We are on a mission to raise the funds necessary and oversee the installation of a new playground for the village.

Why are we doing it?

The current equipment is old and tired and largely inaccessible to children with disabilities.

We all believe that a strong community starts with healthy and happy children. All children whether living in the village or just visiting should be able to play together without the boundaries of creed, culture, ability or age.

Our existing playground equipment has been well used and is now worn out. Add to that the fact that equipment design has come on leaps and bounds since we last looked we know that if successful our project will deliver an exciting and more inclusive playspace right in the heart of the village.

Our problem.

The local authority does not have spare cash to fund our project although they are helping in other ways. Grant funding is increasingly hard to come by, although we are trying really hard and village events although generally well-supported and great fun can only raise so much. So we need to reach a wider audience. 

Perhaps you grew up in Arnside or visited as a child and have happy memories of the village playground?
