Helping six asylum seekers from the Refugee Tales Project attending Greenbelt Festival 2018 with travel costs, food and showers.
Refugee Tales (an outreach project of Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group) campaigns for the end to indefinite detention of asylum seekers in the UK. We are participating in the Literature Programme at Greenbelt Festival 2018 - telling the stories of people held in immigration detention. Greenbelt have very generously given us free tickets to bring along six of our asylum seekers to participate in the festival. We need to fund their transport, food costs, a bit of spending money and a shower each over the weekend. We need about £500 and would be grateful of your help. The asylum seekers are people who have experienced detention and live right across the country – from the North East, to Wales to Kent. Any money left over will be donated to the Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group (registered charity 1124328), who support asylum seekers detained at Brook House and Tinsely House near Gatwick airport, as well as running the Refugee Tales project.
This project successfully funded on 13th August 2018
