The project is to build a new fixed jetty, providing improved access to water sports for all, replacing the old jetty now condemned.
How we’ll spend the money raised:
The cost of the new jetty and shore edging is £15,640.56 and will be constructed by RA Marine, experts in jetty and pontoon construction.
Redesmere has been granted £7820 by Sports England, Movement Fund on condition of raising £7820 through Crowd-funding by the community.
The jetty construction will:
The jetty construction will:
If we reach our target the Jetty will be constructed by March 2026 in time for the opening of the new sailing season.

Why are we crowd funding?
The goal of the project is to provide a jetty which will enable Redesmere Sailing Club to offer more events for the members and wider community so the Club becomes the centre of excellence for water sports in the local area and beyond.
The new jetty will:

The construction of the jetty is key to running successful water sport events in the future. The new jetty will have a projected life span of 40 years and will be a key investment for water sports in the long-term. Access to the water is now very limited in terms of mooring space due to the old condemned jetty. This is limiting our ability to offer events for the membership and beyond.

Who are we?
Redesmere is an inclusive Sailing Club, established 60 years ago, run by volunteers situated in East Cheshire. We encourage participation by members and the local community in dinghy sailing and paddle boarding with a particular focus on families, children, the over 65s and people less mobile. A new stable and secure jetty would enable us to remove barriers, increase, access, participation and offer more sailing events for youth skills training, local charities, and sailing for seniors. Our goal is to provide “Sailing for All by All”.
Website Redesmere Sailing Club
Redesmere wants to increase participation in water sports recognising opportunities for fun, physical and mental health, developing skills for life. We want to remove barriers for different groups by delivering events and activities for; families, children, local charities supporting disabilities, senior model sailing. We currently have a Clubhouse with 30 Club sailing boats, 6 paddle-boards and 4 safety boats.
The Club has recently invested in the new clubhouse extension which includes a dedicated training room, used in particular for skills training of juniors and a changing room with a disability shower and toilet with ramp access. This will complement our desire to make water-sports more accessible for the community.

Community impact
The Club has recently been awarded the prestigious Royal Yacht Association (RYA) 'Pathway Club' status in recognition that Redesmere will play a crucial role in nurturing the future of sailing for junior sailors in its local area.

We proactively forge links with Space4Autism, a local charity. Over the last few years we organise Activity Days, where we take autistic children and adults, with their families or carers out on the water.
Redesmere has RYA Sailability status. The Club has recently invested in a brand new disabled shower and toilet with ramp access. We also have a Challenger Catamaran for use by people with disabilities. However current access to the water is very limited hence the need for a new stable jetty.
We are also have an active model boat sailing group who are more senior. The jetty would attract more people from the community to join.

We hope you can help us realise our target of constructing a new jetty!
