Who We Are

We are Feral Productions, a Hereford based creative company making ambitious site inspired performance that brings people together in unexpected places. We create work that transforms familiar environments into extraordinary experiences - combining storytelling, live performance, music and technology to immerse audiences in worlds they have never experienced before.

For RED, we are working in partnership with Rural Media and The Courtyard to create a bold new outdoor adventure that brings a much-loved story into the present day.

What We Are Doing

RED is not the fairytale you remember.

This immersive outdoor theatre adventure reimagines Little Red Riding Hood for a new generation. Red is no longer the girl who strays. She is the one who leads. Forget everything you think you know about Red. This is not a story about a girl who needs saving. This is a story about courage, connection and discovering the power within us.

As night falls, audiences journey together through Queenswood Country Park, guided by live performers, cinematic sound through headsets and breathtaking projection mapping and lasers that transform the forest around them. Shadows shift, stories unfold and the line between reality and imagination disappears.

Blending storytelling, original music, live performance, binaural sound and spectacular visual effects, RED invites audiences to experience the woods in a completely new way.

This is a Young Adult adventure for families and audience members aged 12+ to experience the woods in a whole new way. Celebrate Halloween and welcome the changing of the clocks as you've never done before.

And bring Granny.

For generations, we have been taught to fear being outdoors after dark. RED challenges that story by creating a safe, shared and spectacular experience where audiences can explore the woods at night and rediscover them as places of wonder, connection and possibility.

Little Red Riding Hood is a story we all know - but this time Red is not waiting to be rescued. She is brave, independent and in control of her own journey.

RED explores courage, female empowerment and what it means for people to feel safe and powerful in the world after dark.

🌙 See nature in a new light

RED invites audiences to experience Queenswood Country Park at a time they may not usually visit - after dark. As night falls, the forest reveals a different side of itself. The sounds, sights and atmosphere of the woodland transform, allowing audiences to discover the hidden magic of nature beyond daylight hours.

By experiencing the woods at night, audiences are encouraged to slow down, reconnect with the natural world and see familiar places from a completely new perspective.

✨ An immersive theatrical woodland experience

Audiences will step into the forest, put on their headsets and enter a world where live performance, cinematic sound, original music, projection mapping and technology bring the story to life.

🌱 Creating opportunities for the next generation

RED is also creating valuable opportunities for emerging creatives through our partnership with Hereford College of Arts. Students will gain hands-on experience working alongside professional artists and production teams, developing skills and insight into careers in the arts.

For many young people in rural Herefordshire, pathways into the creative industries can be difficult to access. By bringing professional opportunities into the region, RED helps build confidence, skills and connections that can open doors to future arts careers.

Creating an outdoor immersive production on this scale is ambitious. Your support will help us bring RED to life by funding performers, creative development, sound design, music, technology, production and all the elements needed to transform Queenswood Country Park into a magical theatrical world.

The arts are facing an increasingly challenging climate, with it becoming harder for ambitious and imaginative projects like RED to secure the support they need. We have found it increasingly difficult and more competitive than ever to gain funding. We believe the arts matter - they bring people together, help us see the world differently and create shared experiences that stay with us. We need to support the freelance creatives we work with and to continue to offer career pathways right here in Hereford.
