With a further £500, we can also record three acoustic tracks - Imogen Imagine, plus...
Raising money to professionally record songs featured in the book Imogen Imagine, which is due to be published in September 2026.
I'm an author based in Bournemouth. My third novel, Imogen Imagine, tells the story of a young woman whose life is derailed when her ex-boyfriend has a massive hit single with a song about their breakup. When she tries to get her side of the story into the world, things take a drastic and unexpected turn for both of them.
With the help of musician Olly Hopper-Pay, I have written the song Imogen Imagine that is at the heart of the book. Before the book comes out in September 2026, I'd love to be able to do a professional recording of the song and make it available to readers, to enhance their experience of the book.
If we can raise £500, we can record Imogen Imagine as a sleek, contemporary pop single. With a further £500, we can also record three acoustic tracks - Imogen Imagine, plus two other songs that appear in the book. The money will cover the cost of hiring a studio, producer, musicians, plus the mixing, mastering and distribution of the finished track(s).
Any money raised beyond what is needed to record and distribute the song(s) will be donated to the Music Venue Trust, supporting and sustaining the grassroots music venues - some of which are mentioned in the book - that play a vital part in the cultural landscape of the UK.
