We're crowdfunding to raise £3000 to pay for studio hire and production costs for Elftet's debut album. Get involved!
Elftet was formed by Jonny Mansfield in September 2015 with their debut gig at the 606 club. It's an extension of JMQ (his quartet) who have been playing together for over three years.
More recently Elftet have been wowing audiences around London, played in a masterclass with Dave Holland and received the Tebbutt Exhibition award for an outstanding performance at the Royal Academy of Music.
The new album will feature all original compositions by Jonny especially composed for the band and will include some of the most exciting musicians in the U.K including James Davison (Trumpet), Tom Smith, George Millard (Saxes & Bass Clarinet), Rory Ingham (Trombone), Ella Hohnen-Ford (Vocals & Flute), Dom Ingham (Violin & Vocals), Laura Armstrong (Cello), Oliver Mason (Guitar), Will Harris (Bass), Boz Martin-Jones (Drums) and Jonny Mansfield (Vibes & Compositions).
Jonny's original compositions are influenced by those of Vince Mendoza, Marius Neset and Stravinsky, as well as songwriters such as Norah Jones and James Taylor. The larger ensemble offers a wide palette of textures and colours, from traditional four horn writing to more contemporary classical music with the use of strings and vibraphone.

Elftet has also been played on BBC radio 3 as one of their BBC Introducing artists and WBGO in New York on the Checkout show.
The recording will be at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios this September and will be engineered by Alex Bonney, produced by Jim Hart and will feature Chris Potter and Gareth Lockrane.
The various rewards include advance copies of the album, an exclusive download of beautifully recorded live tracks of the band, PDF scores/parts for Elftet compositions old and new, and the chance to visit the recording session! Also thank you credits in the album notes, private lessons, and the chance of a private duo concert with members of Elftet!
This is unbelievably exciting for Jonny, the band and everyone involved. This is by a long way the most ambitious project he has undertaken and is set to be unforgettable.
