2026 EWFF Recording and Livestreaming

Aim

The Edinburgh Women’s Fiction Festival is entering its fourth successful year. A Livestream recording expands our audience beyond attendees.

The Edinburgh Women’s Fiction Festival was set up in 2023 to celebrate writing for, by, and about women. It is an event that welcomes everyone who finds joy in reading women's stories—commercial, romance, historical, literary, book club and beyond. Key Objectives are:

• To provide a platform for women’s genre fiction – typically overlooked by other literature festivals.
• To encourage, respect and celebrate all readers of women’s fiction, including romantic fiction.
• To reach a broad spectrum of readers including those from socio-economic backgrounds who do not normally attend literature festivals.
• To promote the mental health benefits of reading.
• To create a community of writers and readers of women’s fiction in Scotland.

It will cost £750 to plan and execute a livestream of the event for those who are unable to attend panels in person on 24th October 2026.

We will charge a nominal amount for access to livestreamed and recorded panels but crowdfunding will cover the majority of the setup costs allowing us to offer this option. As such, crowdfunders create an opportunity for everyone.

We hope that UK taxpayers will opt for Gift Aid which gives us an extra 25p for every £1 donated. If you donate £11 or more and we meet our overall target, we will be able to offer you free access to one livestreamed panel (to watch on the day or as a recording).

Keep what you raise – this project will receive all pledges made by 14th December 2026 at 3:54pm
