Rechargable Mower for Community Garden

Aim

To raise funds to purchase a heavy duty rechargeable mower and battery to maintain and manage our community garden.

We are a grassroots charity based in Forres, founded in 2020 to increase biodiversity, grow organic food, and improve community wellbeing.

Our small, dedicated team consists of trustees and amazing volunteers who care for our community garden in Chapelton Field, as well as nearby green spaces and woodlands. Together, we create a welcoming space where people can connect with nature, learn new skills, and build friendships.

Our vision is a healthier, more connected community living in harmony with nature - where local food is grown sustainably, wildlife thrives, and people work together to nurture themselves and nature.

We host weekly volunteer days and community events, giving people of all ages the chance to get involved. Volunteers take home fresh organic produce, and we donate 20% of what we grow to the local pantry, supporting those in need.

The funds we raise will be used to purchase a rechargeable electric mower and battery which we will sustainably power from our own solar panels.   This will help us maintain safe paths and growing areas, support volunteer training, and strengthen our sustainable growing system by composting all grass cuttings. We need a large and robust mower due to the extensive area of the land and because we will be tackling rough grass and bracken as well as well-tended areas.

Any funds raised above our target will be shared - 50% will remain within the charity to support our ongoing work, and 50% will be donated to Moray Food Plus, helping extend our impact across the wider community.
