Brentwood Rugby Football Club has reached an exciting moment in it's long successful history. We have secured planning permission for a brand new club house and changing facility.
The new facility will safeguard the future of our rugby club, giving us a solid foundation to develop both on and off the field of play.
We need your support to help us raise the approximately £1 Million it will cost to acheive this development.
Who are we ?
Brentwood Rugby Football Club is a family; a family with a proud heritage, a strong fabric and healthy prospects for the future.
It’s been 150 years since William Webb Ellis first picked up a football at Rugby School. 80 years since a group of enthusiasts met in the White Hart Inn on Brentwood High Street and formed our club. 60 years since we moved into our current home in King Georges V Playing Fields in the heart of Brentwood.
The club is currently going through a period of unprecedented success! With many of our long standing members believing the last few seasons have been our most successful on the field of play!
In just 2 seasons, our teams from U12s to 1XV we have been to nine Essex Cup Finals, walking away with 3 Trophies. Including the 2015 Senior Essex Cup!
The 1st XV achieved the club’s highest ever sixth place finish in London 1 North with a squad of players 80% of whom have been developed through the club’s junior ranks!
Right from the youngest age groups, our teams do us proud, with Mini section bringing home trophies from festivals all around the country!
Our Players are being rewarded with representative honours, with 25 youth and senior players being selected to represent Essex in 2015.
If our mini and youth section is the beating heart of our club, feeding the progress made by our development and senior teams, then the 700 or so adult members, friends, family and supporters are the back-bone on which to build for our future.
It is this network of dedicated supporters from the local community that help keep our club afloat.
Building a community asset for the next 80 Years
This year is our 80th anniversary season. Our successful club has completed outgrown our facilities and we have received planning permission from Brentwood Borough Council to completely replace our current facilities.
We are highly ambitious on and off the field, and we need modern facilities to safeguard the next 80 years of our club.
New facilities will allow us to:
-
Establish a platform on which to build the future of our club.
-
Offer suitable, safe and secure changing facilities for all our players, young and old, male and female.
-
Achieve a long held ambition to develop a Women’s Section and foster a truly inclusive club environment.
-
Offer our players, supporters, members, friends, family and opposition a welcoming environment to celebrate, commiserate, develop, nurture and organise.
-
Continue the development of young players into senior careers in rugby, maintaining or improving the percentage of home developed talent within Senior Men’s and Women’s Teams.
-
Expand our player base and capitalise on recent success.
-
Give our 1st XV the home they need to push for promotion and become Essex’s premier Rugby Team.
