Finish the rebuild of the Carlton Tavern! There is work still to do and phase 2 is planned, but we now need some support to see it happen!
We set about rebuilding the historic pub The Carlton Tavern during Covid lockdown, ending a 6yr stint of closure and bringing to life the epic community struggle to get it rebuilt. We want to continue to honour the legacy of that community effort by finishing the work we have done so far to make the Tav the best pub it can be!
Since opening we have had an incredible time rebuilding the community that use the pub, hosting locals and regulars, birthday parties, charity fundraising, weddings and wakes. We love our pub and the people that it brings together, employing locals and offering a place to meet, eat, socialise and work to the people of NW London and beyond.
We put all of our own funds into getting the pub where it is today but we always had more to do to make the pub the absolute best it can be - Phase 2 of the rebuild. We have been through a tough time as an industry, especially us small independents, but are keeping our head above water. We now need to complete some repairs and hope we can 'finish our vision' and we are asking for support from our wonderful community of pub supporters to help us achieve this.
We need funds to upgrade our back of house flooring, our toilets, our heating and general amenity as well as replacing and repairing much of our furniture and kit that has bravely survived to this point! If we can raise beyond our initial goal, we be able to fully replace some of the (dodgy) original plumbing and upgrade more kit to ensure we have the capacity to continue to deliver great guest experiences every day...We also have a fantastic garden project that will create the best pub garden in NW London if not the city!
Your donation, no matter the size will make a real impact on a significant space in the community you live in and the historic preservation of the important building that is The Carlton Tavern. We have hope that the Tavern can be held up as an example of what was once a demolished pile of rubble to show that with an engaged community and the right support Pubs can be thriving spaces once again...
