The Cause
Our Palestinian friends Mohsen & Nermin had a baby just 8 weeks ago, having narrowly escaped being killed and managing to escape to Egypt. Their home In Gaza was destroyed and all of their savings spent to get to this point. We are crowdfunding to get them to Canada so that Nermin can take up her place at the University of Toronto.
Mohsens Story:
On May 19th, 2023, I married the love of my life, Nermin. We built a peaceful, loving home, each detail a testament to our happiness. My post-marriage days were filled with work, football with friends, weekend barbecues, and cherished moments with family.
Then came the war. It shattered our dreams. Our home, a repository of memories, was destroyed. We narrowly escaped death and became displaced on the first day. The war unleashed its horrors – bombings and destruction everywhere, forcing us to flee constantly to escape the violence.
We managed to reach Egypt and safely deliver our baby, who is now almost 8 weeks old.
Thank you for supporting us in our quest for a peaceful life. This donation will bring us closer to reaching Canada, where Nermin will continue her exceptional academic journey. She has been accepted into the MASc in Civil Engineering program at the Department of Civil & Mineral Engineering at the University of Toronto & has a grant that will cover some of the cost. We are crowdfunding for the rest.
With a stellar academic record of a 92 GPA in her Bachelor's and a 97 GPA in her Master's in Computer and Communication Engineering, Nermin is set to make a significant impact in her field.
The war took everything – our home, our jobs, our savings, and a sense of normalcy in Gaza. But it couldn't take our spirit. We are alive, and we will rebuild, brick by brick, dream by dream
