Help us get elected!
Our Branch Lead, Lou Timlin, is the WEP candidate for Evendons Ward, Wokingham in the 2023 local elections and we need your help to get her elected!
Lou ran in 2019 and 2021 securing over 6% of the votes and beating Labour in 2019. This is a fantastic result for a small party and we are going all out to do better in 2023.
The Women's Equality Party are a fresh, new collaborative force in British politics, and the only party in the UK with equality at the forefront of everything WE do. WE unite people of different backgrounds to fight for equality so that everyone benefits.
Local government has a massive impact on people's lives, providing services which we all use, from cradle to grave. It's imperative that everyone's voices are represented in decision-making yet only a third of locally elected councillor's are women. Lou has been campaigning locally to ensure women's voices are heard, most recently in the provision of domestic abuse services and encouraging both the Town and Borough Councils to show support for the White Ribbon campaign and to pledge never to use, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
Your donations will make a huge impact for our election campaign:
Lou is campaigning to:
Ensure we have enough affordable and accessible childcare locally so that everyone who wants to can work the hours they choose.
End violence against women and girls. Wokingham Borough Council intend to seek White Ribbon Accreditation - WE want to hold WBC accountable in making a real change to stop violence against women and girls.
Ensure domestic abuse services and support are available for everyone who needs them.
Ensure local government policies are scrutinised with a gender lens so that the impact on women, who stand to lose more when services are cut, is recognised.

As a political party we are required to run permissibility checks on donations over £50. These will be completed as you make your donation and therefore we can't accept anonymous donations over £50.
If you give over £500 your details will appear in our election returns, and if you donate over £7,500 your name will appear on the Electoral Commission website.
