This project successfully funded on 30th April 2026, you can still support them with a donation.

Aim

Refresh reading corners in all Pitmaston classrooms with comfy seating, books and inspiring spaces to support daily reading and confidence.

Children love a cosy nook where they can curl up with their favourite book. A comfortable, well-lit space helps them settle, focus and lose themselves in a story.

At Pitmaston Primary School, we want every child to have that experience.

To celebrate World Book Day 2026 (5 March), we’re launching a two-week Sponsored Read-A-Thon to raise £4,400 to refresh the reading corners in all 22 classrooms.

We’re raising funds to create warm, inviting spaces filled with:

  • Bean bags and comfortable chairs
  • Cushions and soft furnishings
  • Lighting
  • Artwork
  • Bookshelves
  • And exciting new books for every classroom

Reading for pleasure plays a powerful role in children’s confidence, wellbeing and academic success — but nationally, enjoyment of reading is in decline. We believe that inspiring environments can help spark curiosity and build lifelong readers.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards improving classroom reading spaces for our children.

This fundraiser is organised by the Pitmaston Primary School PTA — a group of volunteer parents working closely with the school — with all funds raised going straight back into supporting our children.

Together, we can create spaces where stories come to life and a love of reading can grow. 💙
