Aim
To raise funds to re-elect Stuart McDonald as the SNP Member of Parliament for the new Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch constituency
Our Candidate – Stuart McDonald
Since his election as the MP for Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East in 2015 and re-election in 2017 and 2019, Stuart has fought tirelessly for our area, for Scotland and the cause of independence.
Stuart has now been selected as the SNP candidate for the new constituency of Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch, which also includes Kilsyth, Croy, Banton, Queenzieburn, Twechar, Stepps, Chryston, Muirhead and Auchinloch.
Stuart has campaigned on a number of issues impacting on the lives of his constituents and people across the country, including Universal Credit, Fixed Odds Betting Terminals, Pensions and the WASPI Campaign, HMRC in Cumbernauld, and unfair immigration and asylum rules.
Stuart also introduced and sponsored the Neonatal Care Act 2023 through parliament. This act provides parents with a right to 12 weeks’ leave and pay when their baby requires neonatal care in addition to existing parental leave entitlements.
He has been a hardworking local MP for Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East and an effective representative for Scotland down at Westminster in the face of growing hostility from an increasingly right wing UK Government.
Our Campaign – Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch
Running winning campaigns costs money.
The main focus of our local campaigns is always canvassing. There is no substitute for those face-to-face conversations on the doorsteps.
However, canvassing needs to go hand in hand with the mass delivery of campaign literature, which is the main expense in any election.
Not only to we have to design, print and deliver multiple leaflets to every household in the area, we also deliver tens of thousands of letters to SNP supporters and other groups who can help to swing the result locally.
With the general election having now been called we are going to campaign for every single vote in this constituency, just as we have always done. We can take nothing for granted. Every vote counts.
This has the potential to be a hugely significant election for the cause of independence and in removing the Tories from having power over Scotland permanently.
Our dedicated team of activists in Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch will pull out all the stops as usual to win this election, but we need your help to finance the best campaign possible and win this constituency for the SNP.
