Aim
Re-elect Richard Cherry to West Sussex County Council to continue standing up for Burgess Hill East.
Burgess Hill East needs a councilor with a proven record of getting things done and the experience to hold the County Council to account.
I am that person.
I have lived in Burgess Hill with my family for over 40 years. For the past five years, it has been my privilege to serve as your County Councilor for Burgess Hill East. Throughout that time, I have been a tireless advocate for our community, whether it is fighting for the road maintenance we deserve or protecting local facilities.
Experience That Matters My focus has always been on our community's future. I am passionate about ensuring our young people get the best start in life. My experience includes:
- Educational Advocacy: Serving as a governor for both primary and secondary schools in our area, including as Chair of Governors at the Burgess Hill Academy.
- Community Facilities: Serving as a trustee of the newly re-opened Park Centre, ensuring its long tradition of leisure facilities for young people continues.
- Better Roads: Continually fighting alongside my Lib Dem colleagues for increased spending and a greater emphasis on road maintenance and repair - the number one concern for local residents.
The Challenge The results from the last election show that Burgess Hill East is a clear choice between the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives. With Reform and other parties trailing significantly, only the Liberal Democrats have a record of beating the Conservatives here.
But to win on 7th May and take that fight back to County Hall, I need your support.
We don't have multimillion-pound backers; we rely on local people who care about our town’s future. Every donation, no matter the size, directly funds our campaign to reach voters across Burgess Hill East through leaflets, letters, and digital outreach.
