Re-Elect Peter Grant

Aim

Help re-elect Peter Grant and ensure that the SNP holds onto Glenrothes and Central Fife.

It has been a privilege and an honour to represent the constituency which has been my home for over 36 years. When I was first elected in 2015, I promised my constituents to stand up for them and Scotland, and to ensure that their voice was heard in Westminster. 

I have championed the work of a number of local organisations who provide help to constituents living with the impact of UK austerity cuts. Since the election in 2015, my team and I have helped to recover over £444,000 for constituents whose benefits or tax credits had been wrongly assessed by the DWP or who have required support in a number of other areas.

In 2016, Scotland voted to Remain in the European Union, but the UK Government have ignored the wishes of Scotland's people, Scotland’s Parliament and Scotland’s Government. As the SNP's Brexit spokesperson, I have represented our constituency and country in Brexit Select Committees, as well as on overseas delegations.

In 2016 the people of Scotland gave our Government a mandate to hold a referendum on Independence. A vote for me is a vote to ensure that the UK Government respects that mandate and recognises Scotland’s right to decide its own future. I believe that our future is as an Independent nation in the family of the European Union.
