Local SNP campaign to re-elect Nicola Sturgeon as the MSP for Glasgow Southside
Hi! I'm Mhairi Hunter and I'm the campaign manager for Nicola Sturgeon, who is standing for re-election as the MSP for Glasgow Southside in the Scottish Parliament election on May 5th.
Glasgow Southside takes in East Govan, Ibrox, Cessnock, Kinning Park, Tradeston, Kingston, Dumbreck, Pollokshields, Crossmyloof, Strathbungo, west Shawlands, Queen's Park, Crosshill, Govanhill, Laurieston, Gorbals, Oatlands & Toryglen. There are over 53,000 voters living in 31,000 households.
Nicola was elected MSP for Glasgow Southside in 2011 with a majority of 4,349 votes. Prior to that she was the MSP for Govan. (Govan constituency was abolished prior to 2011 following a review of constituency boundaries). Nicola really needs no introduction as she's one of the most weel kent people in the country. But Nicola is, first and foremost, a local MSP and she regards representing the people of Glasgow Southside as an enormous privilege. Our campaign will reflect that.
Local SNP members are gearing up to help Nicola and her campaign team fight this year's election. In fact our campaign has already started - but we do need your help to win. Our local campaign will be funded entirely by Glasgow Southside SNP. We'd love you to help our campaign in any way you can.
These are some of the major campaign expenses we need to fund.
So these are the kinds of things we are asking you to help fund. Fighting a really good local campaign requires money and we want to fight the best campaign possible.
It's really important that we take nothing for granted. Opinion polls may show us in the lead - but we're going to campaign for every single vote in Glasgow Southside, just as we have always done.
I hope that this has given you some insight into how we campaign at a grassroots level & has hopefully inspired you to want to help.
You can donate any amount from £5 upwards. Please be assured that any donation, however small or large, will make a real difference and help us secure a decisive win in Glasgow Southside.
Best Wishes

Mhairi Hunter, Campaign Manager
