I’m Màiri McAllan, your SNP candidate for Clydesdale, seeking re-election as your MSP on 7th May.
I have spent my life in Clydesdale and am raising my own family here. I know the joys and challenges of life in our rural towns and villages. Just as Clydesdale needs a local champion, Scotland needs a government that puts us first.
The SNP always wants what’s best for Scotland, and your SNP government is working hard for Scotland.
We are making the NHS better. Under John Swinney, waiting times are falling and GP numbers are rising. New high street walk-in clinics will also mean easier access
to GPs and I am calling for one of the first of these to be in Clydesdale.
Thanks to the SNP, people in Scotland get more help with living costs than anywhere else in the UK.
That includes long standing policies like free prescriptions and free bus travel for under 22s and over 60s, and new ones like abolishing peak rail fares and providing families with more wraparound care.
There’s even more we can do.
Given all our energy wealth, it makes no sense that we pay some of the highest bills in Europe, but that’s down to Westminster decisions. With independence we can lower energy bills - that’s the fresh start Scotland needs.
As your MSP since 2021 I have stood up for Clydesdale on the issues that matter most to you, like our NHS, energy and food bills, rural transport and housing, support for businesses and the environment.
With my experience, my local knowledge, and my background as a lawyer, you can trust me to work hard for you, and for Clydesdale.
