Local SNP campaign to re-elect Bruce Crawford as the MSP for Stirling.
Hi! I'm Melanie and I'm the branch organiser for the City of Stirling SNP. I'm running this Crowdfunder on behalf of Bruce Crawford who is standing for re-election as the MSP for Stirling in the Scottish Parliament election on May 5th.
Stirling Constituency takes in Aberfoyle, Arnprior, Ardeonaig, Balfron, Balquhidder, Blanefield, Brig O’Turk, Buchlyvie, Balmaha, Callander, Cambusbarron, Cowie, Crianlarich, Croftamie, Deanston, Doune, Drymen, Fallin, Fintry, Gargunnock, Gartmore, Inversnaid, Killearn, Killin, Kinlochard, Kippen, Lochearnhead, Milton of Buchanan, Plean, Port of Menteith, Rowardennan, Stirling, Strathblane, Strathyre, Stronachlachar, Thornhill, Throsk, Tyndrum. There are over 55,046 voters living in 38,056 households.
Bruce was elected MSP for Stirling in 2007 with a majority of 620 votes and went on to successfully contest the 2011 election with an increased majority of 5,671. Prior to that he was the list MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife from 1999-2007. He was formerly the Minister for Parliamentary Business in the first SNP Scottish Government from 2007-11, then Cabinet Secretary for Parliamentary Business and Government Strategy following the 2011 election in the first majority Scottish Government. He stepped down from the Cabinet in September 2012, and has since become Convenor of the new The Devolution (Further Powers) Committee (formerly the Referendum (Scotland) Bill Committee).
Bruce really needs no introduction as he's one of the most hard working and respected MSPs in the country. But Bruce is, first and foremost, a local MSP and he regards representing the people of Stirling as an enormous privilege. Our campaign will reflect that.
Local SNP members are gearing up to help Bruce and his campaign team fight this year's election. In fact our campaign has already started - but we do need your help to win.
These are some of the major campaign expenses we need to fund:
So these are the kinds of things we are asking you to help fund. Fighting a really good local campaign requires money and we want to fight the best campaign possible.
It's really important that we take nothing for granted. Opinion polls may show us in the lead - but we're going to campaign for every single vote in the Stirling constituency, just as we have always done.
I hope that this has given you some insight into how we campaign at a grassroots level & has hopefully inspired you to want to help.
You can donate any amount from £5 upwards. Please be assured that any donation, however small or large, will make a real difference and help us secure a decisive win in Stirling.
Remember, not a penny of this money goes to pay for activist or volunteer help – that time and effort is all given freely. When we hit the crowdfunding closing date, all money donated will be deposited into the Stirling SNP Election Campaign fund for immediate use in the campaign.

If you are kind enought to donate more than £50 to Bruce's campaign, your name may be checked against the electoral register to make sure you are eligible to donate. Your name, but not your address, will be made available by the council on request after the election.
This page is promoted by Jim Thomson, election agent, on behalf of Bruce Crawford, both at 7 Munro Avenue, Causewayhead, Stirling, FK9 5RA.
