Aim

I am standing to be re-elected as the Labour and Co-operative MP for Redcar

It has been a huge privilege to represent Redcar constituency in the House of Commons since the 2015 General Election.

Redcar and Cleveland is my home. I love our community and I make sure our voice is heard in Parliament. I spend my time fighting for the jobs and investment we need, changing the law to make it work better for our area, and helping thousands of constituents with personal casework. By challenging unfair decisions, my team and I have won back more than £500,000 for local people so far. I’m always on your side, fighting your corner.

Over the past four years we have achieved a lot together, standing up for the steel industry and steelworkers when the Conservatives closed our steelworks, securing funding for our high streets, making sure big investment projects employ local labour, safeguarding domestic violence services, increasing ambulance numbers, changing the law on dangerous driving, and toughening up animal cruelty sentences.

There is so much more I want to work with you to deliver. We need more police on our streets tackling anti-social behaviour and rising crime, more facilities for our young people, investment in schools and colleges to improve skills, better quality jobs that pay a fair wage, and more funding for the NHS.

A General Election has now been called and this isn't a campaign to sit out. My campaign is people powered and I would love your support for the campaign ahead. I fought and won the seat in 2015 and 2017 with donations collected from ordinary people and with the help of hundreds of volunteers from my community. Please donate if you can - every amount, no matter how small, will be a help.

Your donation will be made to Redcar Labour Party's Fighting Fund and will help me to reach more people during this important election campaign.

Please note the following:
Political Donation Rules

As a political campaign we have to abide by electoral law. That means:

  • Donations of all sizes are very welcome;
  • If you are kind enough to donate more than £50 to our campaign please contact us at [email protected] with your name and address as this is a legal requirement;
  • Your name and address will be checked against the electoral register to ensure that you are eligible to donate. Your name but not your address will be made available to the Electoral Commission on request after the election;
  • We are not allowed to accept donations of more than £50 from anyone not on the UK electoral roll.
  • Donations over £1500 (or more than three separate donations of £500) will require a public declaration of your donation, although your address can be kept private.

UK companies, limited liability partnerships, trade unions and unincorporated associations may also make donations. Please contact the team at [email protected] for more information before doing this.

Thank you. Your support is really appreciated.
