To re-elect Amy Callaghan for the SNP in the new constituency of Mid Dunbartonshire

by Amy Callaghan in Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire Council, United Kingdom

Our Candidate - Amy Callaghan

Since her election in 2019 as the MP for East Dunbartonshire, Amy has stood up for her constituents, fighting their corner and being their voice in the House of Commons.

Amy has now been selected as the SNP candidate for the new constituency of Mid Dunbartonshire, which also includes Milton of Campsie, Lennoxtown and more of Lenzie.

Amy has campaigned on a number of issues that are important to her constituents, including: tackling Westminster's cost of living crisis, pensions and in particular the WASPI campaign, unfair asylum rules and foreign affairs matters such as peace between Israel and Gaza, and freezing council tax.

She has also tirelessly campaigned for the protection of the NHS, in the face of workforce shortages and a severe lack of funding from Westminster. As the SNP's health spokesperson she has continually raised these issues, challenging the UK Government on their moves towards privatisation. She has also been a strong advocate for supporting Cancer patients, and in particular young cancer patients, through her role as the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Children Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer.

She is also currently campaigning for the UK to remove the VAT on sunscreen SPF30+, and increase awareness of sun protection in the fight against skin cancer. She is supported in this campaign by major cancer charities such as Young Lives vs Cancer and Teenage Cancer Trust.

Amy is a strong voice for Scotland, in a Westminster Parliament that often tries to silence voices for change.

Our Campaign - Mid Dunbartonshire

Getting Amy's message out costs money.

We want to make sure voters in Mid Dunbartonshire know what Amy stands for, and what she will continue to do for them if re-elected.

The only way we can ensure we are reaching people is to send them the information directly to their doorstep. The real focus of course is canvassing, and having face-to-face conversations on the doorsteps, but we have to ensure that the message is getting to everyone. Every vote matters in this election, and we can't take anything for granted.

Every election is important, but this election is one of the most important of our lifetimes. The future of our country is at stake. Not just for the next five years – but for generations to come.

At the next General Election, a vote for the SNP is a vote for independence, to end austerity and protect our NHS.  Westminster is taking Scotland down the wrong path – and it is doing so against our will.  Our place in Europe, the future of our NHS, the nation we want to be – and will be - should not be for a Westminster Labour or Tory Government to decide.

Your Donation

Our members and activists are fantastic campaigners, and they will do everything they can to get Amy's message out, but we need your help to make this campaign as effective as possible, and win this constituency for Amy and the SNP.

You can donate any amount, no matter how small or large, every leaflet we are able to print and constituent we are able to reach counts. We know money is tight for many at the moment, but we are grateful for any donation and it does make a difference.

If you are generous enough to donate more than £50 to our campaign, your name and address will be checked against the electoral register to ensure that you are eligible to donate. Your name, but not your address, will be made available by the council on request after the election.
