Aim

I would like to provide the community of Wolverhampton and surrounding areas the ability to race Radio Controlled (RC) cars around a track

Having graduated from University of Wolverhampton with a BA honors in Leisure Management in 2005 I have always had the desire to be involved in Events management and although being in employment outside of my desired industry since graduating, through my entrepreneurial spirit I have managed to successfully create and implement two nightclub events.  However since I was a child and seeing RC cars being raced I fell in love with them but at that age could not afford them, fast forward to adult life and seeing a TV program where an RC car raced a normal car and Lewis Hamilton racing RC cars in his child years the idea dawned on me 'Why don't i provide the facility and service'  especially as there may be kids feeling like i was back in my childhood.  The idea of RC1 Racing was born.

RC1 Racing is a new innovative entertainment venture that brings the hobby of radio-controlled car racing, to the wider community offering a unique family and friends experience with an exciting product and service which mainly but not exclusively is the RC cars and the track to race on.  I would initially like to provide the community of Wolverhampton and surrounding areas the access to this fun and exciting leisure activity.

The activity of RC racing allows for more social inclusion than many other leisure facilities/activities. For example wheelchair users have the exact same experience racing RC cars as an able bodied person unlike going to the cinemas, playing football or even bowling as an example. Not only this but for all people specifically kids it helps with hand eye coordination and concentration which can have positive outcomes in a child's development.

I see the main beneficiaries as kids who may not be able to afford the cost of an RC car, School, college and University students, individuals with some disabilities and even adults.

The funding from you will be used to purchase significant startup costs such as a racers platform and safety barriers and track materials.  I have invested my own capital and have purchased Branded Event Tents, T'shirts, Banners and flags and crucially the RC cars.

As a startup RC1 will run as an outdoor project using car park areas around the city our aim remains however to have our own indoor facilities which will see RC1 in a similar way to you local Bowling alley complete with arcades and food and drink.
