Improving Our Local Snooker Facilities

Aim: Upgrade Buckie’s only snooker facility! Better tables mean more youth players, competitions, and a future for the game in our community.

Who are we?

We’re the Royal British Legion Buckie Branch, home to Buckie’s only snooker facility - a cherished space where generations have gathered for friendly games, tournaments, and camaraderie. Our three full-size tables have served veterans, local players, and youth for decades, providing not just sport but a vital social hub. Without this venue, Buckie would lose its last remaining snooker tables, forcing enthusiasts to travel 15 miles to Keith

Why are we crowdfunding?

Right now, our tables are barely playable - balding cloths, wobbly rests, and flickering lights make proper games impossible. The next nearest snooker hall is 15 miles away, leaving players stranded. We’re raising funds to:

• Replace worn-out cloths for smoother, faster play.
• Upgrade rests and cues so everyone has proper equipment.
• Install modern lighting to meet competition standards.

With your help, we’ll transform the space into a vibrant snooker hub - hosting tournaments, coaching juniors, and keeping the game alive for future generations.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Every penny will go directly into the refurbishment:

• New tournament-grade cloths for all tables.
• Professional rests, cues, and triangle.
• LED lighting upgrades for clearer visibility.
• Minor table repairs and levelling.

Community impact

This project goes far beyond snooker; it's about strengthening the heart of our community. Our tables serve as a vital gathering place where people develop focus and sportsmanship, veterans stay active and socially connected, and local leagues foster camaraderie among players. As a Royal British Legion branch, we also host charity events that bring the whole town together, meaning these improved facilities will benefit far more than just snooker enthusiasts.
