Celebrating 60 years of Reading Bach Choir with a performance of Bach’s Mass in B Minor and a free summer concert in the town centre.

Reading Bach Choir has been part of Reading’s cultural life for 60 years

• Founded in 1966, our first concert in January 1967 was a great success, performing JS Bach’s Mass in B Minor at Reading Town Hall. This work is often considered to be one of the greatest achievements in Western music.

• In March 2027, we will once again perform Bach’s Mass in B Minor to mark our 60th anniversary. 
• To give our audience the richest possible experience of this extraordinary mass, we will be joined by professional soloists and the Hanover Band, one of Britain’s finest period instrument orchestras.
• Putting on a concert of this calibre costs over £15,000. 
• We are planning to offer a number of free tickets for our anniversary concert via a local youth network.
• Your donation will enable ticket concessions and go directly towards the cost of the professional musicians.
• Whilst our hope is for at least 60 individual donations we'd love to have more!
• We are also raising funds to put on a free concert in Reading in July 2027 and your generous support will make this a reality.
