To install new facilities and modernise Rayleigh Fairview Cricket Club.

by Rayleigh Fairview Cricket Club in Rayleigh, Essex, United Kingdom

Who are we?

Rayleigh Fairview Cricket Club, established in 1952, has served the local community as an inclusive recreational sports club, allowing adults and youth cricketers the opportunity to get involved in sport. Our club is based at Rayleigh Town Sports and Social Club, has 2 Saturday league sides playing in the T Rippon Mid-Essex League, a Sunday Friendly side, a Midweek XI, playing in the Medlocks Southend Evening League, and two junior sides, at U9/U11, participating in the SECPG leagues.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our clubhouse is in disrepair and urgent work must be carried out to modernise, and provide more utility as our club looks to expand.

Sport England sees the value of your project and has pledged £7500 if we can raise the other £7500 through 25 unique supporters through this crowdfunder.

How we’ll spend the money raised

If we are fortunate enough to raise the £7500 targeted, Sport England will match our contribution through the Sport England Movement Fund. This will allow us to;

- Create a storage facility for equipment, and an area for food and drink prep.

- Install a new fixed net surface to allow all-weather net sessions and convenient warm-up practice.

- Install a new patio and improved decking.

- Fund a gas heater to produce hot drinks pitch-side for spectators and players.

- Invest in a new electronic scoreboard to enhance playing experience.

- Carry-out any required repairs to the 40 year old clubhouse mainframe.

- Financing of a second hand roller to improve the playing quality of the pitch, and no longer leaving the club relying on costly lease hire.

Community impact

On completion of the project, we hope that the improved facilities will increase uptake of cricket in the community for all groups, and provide a sanitary, hospitable place to play sports, with facilities more consistent with a modern recreational cricket club.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
