Night promoter AM&EVE and BIG SISTER THEATRE are thrilled to announce their collaboration for one fundraising night of raving and sharing.
Big Sister is Theatre Deli’s Resident Company for the upcoming Voila! International Theatre Festival. Our play “Sharing is Caring: The European Dream” will be showing at the end of November.

"SHARING IS CARING: THE EUROPEAN DREAM”
A Big Sister Theatre Production in collaboration with Theatre East N Bull
Written by Klervi Gavet
Directed by Baris Celiloglu
December 2024. A London squat gets busted. What starts as a tight-knit community full of utopian dreams of multicultural cohabitation soon descends into a nightmarish firing zone where no one is safe and no shot is too low.
This metaphor on Europe examines our political legacy and the challenges of conflict resolution in times of unprecedented polarisation.
Reflecting on topical notions of mental health and class inequality, it asks two of the most burning questions of our times: What is privilege? Can one ever unlearn what they have been taught?
Themes: housing crisis, multiculturalism, inclusive leadership, collective thinking, political inheritance, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, mental health, home/belonging

THE BUDGET
Putting on a show, even in R&D (research and development), isn't cheap. To pay everyone and get the things we need to work in good conditions, it would cost a little bit under £25K. It covers all the usual suspects - rehearsals, costumes, props, set design, marketing and producing fees - as well as a free reading and Q&A prior to our residency to involve housing communities and migrants in the conversation and development of the play.
We have secured a fraction of this amount plus some in-kind support, and have officially applied to the Arts Council Fund. We are now awaiting their verdict while applying to other grants and trusts.
In case we do not receive support from the Arts Council, this fundraiser, along with our ticket sales and seed funding from Theatre Deli, will likely be our financial bedrock. We will then operate under the dreaded profit-share model, where no one receives a proper salary and any 'profit' at the end is divided among the company.

Thank you for sharing. Thank you for caring! And if you wish to rave with us in September, come this way.
