Ramsgate Bowls Club Community project.

Aim

We now have planning passed and need your support to enlarge our Club house to benefit the local community so we can open all year round.

We aim to provide a place that encourages all people,both members and the general public to take part in a sport,benefit from contact with others and open all year round,We were founded in 1924 and use the existing clubhouse,(this now needs repairs due to damp and water penetration issues). 1994 we added an extension to include a Kitchen and more social space for our growing membership (quizzes,whist drives etc). 2019 we replaced an old portacabin with a new pavilion for our visitors changing rooms,Continuing membership growth and the increased use of our Club throughout the season by the general public, touring sides,local and county bowls associations and our own successful open tournament in August,which players and spectators from our area and further afield attend,our current facilities are really being streched. Our club is also used by other organisations including guide troupes,ageless Thanet, Kent Police ( for their finals day ) our town Mayor for their charity events day and the Westcliffe conservation group, extending and improving our space would mean we can become a more forward looking and inclusive organisation.it would also mean we would have the ability to increase the use of our Club through the winter month for other games such as short mat bowls therefore providing continued social interaction and support to our members and the local community through what can be a some what dreary and depressing part of the year.
