I need your help to put a suicide awareness day at Ramsbottom Civic Hall on Saturday 29th February.
In the first week of January yet another child attempted suicide in Haslingden, and I am sick of this happening to colleagues, family, friends and children.
The FA delayed all the cup game kickoffs so we could all talk about mental health, but what use is that? We talk... then what?
I want to do something proper, concrete and productive in our own community to deal with the REAL issues that affect us all every day!
I need help to put on a suicide awareness event at Ramsbottom Civic Hall on Saturday 29th February. I want to get organisations to come and talk to us about our issues, about spotting issues in others, and about where to get help.
I don't need much. £240 for hiring the Civic Hall, and £300 for some publicity materials. If we raise a bit more then we can get some knowledgeable people to run seminars. We may even be able to print a booklet of support materials to inform people about where to find help.
Through RammyMen we have loads of volunteers giving their time up for free, and we are setting up a website database of useful contacts and information.
We just need a little bit of money to cover the things that we can't afford.
Please help stop the constant stream of loved ones that are tragically taking their own lives.
