Help Us Bring Relief to Sudanese Refugees in Ethiopia, Egypt and Uganda
Since the outbreak of the devastating war in Sudan on April 15, 2023, more than 4 million people have been forced to flee their homes - escaping atrocities, violence, and famine. Among them, around 60,000 have sought refuge in camps across Ethiopia, 90,000 have arrived in isolated areas of Uganda and over 1.5 million have crossed the border into Egypt.
The refugee camps and local organisations already overstretched and under-resourced, are struggling to meet even the most basic needs. Families, many of them women and children, arrive with nothing. They need food. They need shelter. They need hope.
The Sudanese Legal Network (SLN) is raising urgent, life-saving funds to support these families and working with local communities to deliver this to those who need it the most.
In Cairo, SLN has already raised £170,000, delivering food packages (including Eid meat to help families retain their dignity and a small sense of normality), clothing, rent assistance, and vocational training through our work with established, Sudanese led charity, Al Tafa’ul. We have now expanded our impact to reach Sudanese refugees in Ethiopian camps, including those in Assosa, Metema, Gonder, and Benishangul-Gumuz. So far we have provided 2-3 months worth of staple food supplies for over 3300 people and we need to continue this support. We also plan to help those who have fled to Uganda (approximately 90,000 since April 2023) who remain isolated and in dire need of support.
But we can’t do it without you.
Every donation matters. Every pound helps deliver food, restore dignity, and build a future.
Help us help the innocent victims of the ongoing war.
