I'm raising money to get the doors of One For The Table open.
I’m opening a brunch spot in Walthamstow!
The last week has honestly been a dream come true—I finally got the keys to my soon-to-be café.
One For The Table will be an all-day café serving exceptional coffee, brunch, and cocktails, with a big focus on quality produce, seasonal menus, and working with brilliant local suppliers. More than anything, I want it to be a warm, welcoming space with proper hospitality — somewhere you can pop in for a coffee, stay for brunch, or end up having that margarita you didn’t plan on.
It’s no secret that the hospitality industry is currently having a rough time. Costs keep going up, and opening a café probably sounds a bit mad, but I really believe we still need places where people can slow down, catch up, and enjoy thoughtful, well-made food in a relaxed space.
Asking for funding like this isn’t something I ever planned to do, and I really hoped I wouldn’t need to. But costs are high, surprises keep popping up, and despite doing everything I could to plan and save, here I am. To make this vision a reality, I’m raising funds to help us open our doors, covering equipment, renovations, ingredients, and paying the lovely team who’ll bring the place to life.
The upfront costs have been pretty eye-watering. Thanks to incredible support from my family alongside my own personal savings, I’ve already covered the premium on the space, the deposit, and three months’ rent upfront. However, the unit has been left in much worse shape than expected, meaning renovations are bigger than budgeted. Some of the equipment I planned to reuse needs replacing, and because I’m a first-time business owner, the landlord required a larger deposit. To top it off, a start-up loan I was counting on isn’t available until I have trading accounts (which is hard to do when you can’t open yet).
So, I’m asking for your support. I’m seeing if you’d pay for a coffee, brunch for two, a portion of hash browns, or a margarita in advance to help get One For The Table over the line and open its doors. Every contribution — big or small — genuinely helps and means more than I can say.
There are also some fun rewards available, such as t-shirts and tote bags. You can even have your picture up in our toilets if you want to (but that’ll cost you). Above all, and hopefully very soon, there will be a café you’ll feel proud to say you helped bring to life.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and supporting in any way you can. I can’t wait to open the doors and welcome you in!
