To help one very special little girl, Ruby, receive a specialist body brace to cure her Scoliosis curve before it further affects her lungs.
Ruby was diagnosed with a severe curve of the spine in May of this year. As a family, we've been left devastated by what this may mean for her future. We have found a clinic in London that can cure her curve with a specialist "Gensingen Brace" - this will mean no endless rounds of anaestethic, traction or body casting. The NHS have been amazing with us so far but unfortunately their equipment will only stop the curve from getting worse, if it works at all. Because Rubys curve is so severe under the age of five, the chances of her worsening rapidly are frighteningly high. She already uses a frame to help her walk and her breathing is affected due to the curve - she is at risk of lung damage if we do not get prompt help for her.
Every penny we raise goes towards getting Ruby to the clinic and providing her with the brace that can change everything for her. Body casting on the NHS means no more swimming, bathing or ballet - activities that she truly loves.
Each brace she will need costs around £3000, and she will need at least 3 in the next 2 years, which is why we're trying to raise this large amount. Results from wearing the brace will be apparent within 4 weeks and Rubys life will begin to improve rapidly.
I thank you for your support. Bless you all.
