Our much loved community space has a big problem: a very old roof. We urgently need £10,000 to stop the leaks and save the Mowlem.

We’re absolutely delighted by the incredible support we’ve received for our 'Raise the Roof' crowdfunder here at the Mowlem – thank you so much!
To everyone who has donated, shared the campaign, or left kind words of encouragement: your support has been truly inspiring.
When we set our target at £10,000, we expected it would be a big challenge and take the full 6 weeks to reach. We never imagined we'd hit our goal with 28 days still to go.
As mentioned in our campaign video, the full cost of repairing the roof exceeds our target amount. The original £10,000 crowdfunder was intended as part of a wider fundraising effort, but thanks to your generosity, we’re now able to aim even higher.
Today, we're lifting our crowdfunder target to £15,000. This will give those who still want to contribute the chance to do so, and to help us get even closer to achieving our goal. We’ll continue to pursue additional fundraising methods to close the remaining gap.

For almost 60 years, our building has stood strong, hosting community groups, supporting local causes, and being a home for countless memories. But now, we've got a major problem. The roof, a stubbornly flat relic from another era, has been leaking for a while - and it's getting worse.
We’ve done all we can with temporary fixes, but they’re no longer enough. Without urgent repairs, we face the very real possibility of cancelling shows, damaging key equipment, or even closing the building.
We're launching this Crowdfunder, to ask our supporters to help us raise £10,000. With this money along with other fundraising initiatives we’ll be able to add a permanent weather proof layer to our existing roof and keep the rain out for years to come.
We welcome donations from £1 upwards and every penny really does help to keep our space open and our venue dry. We've put together a variety of rewards, which include the opportunity to have a plaque with your name on one of our auditorium seats, as well as Mowlem branded merchandise and experiences.
