We desperately need to repair or replace our leaky roof. Our Community Centre is at risk of closure if we can’t keep the rain out.
New Roof, New Hope, New Future
We are run entirely by a group of wonderful volunteers.
Our problem is an ageing building, the roof that needs urgent work to either be repaired or ideally replaced.
If our leaky roof isn’t fixed, in a short period time it could mean the closure of the building and the loss of our tremendous facility.
Please help to keep our doors open.
Our Ambition:
Platt Bridge Community Centre is a community-owned and operated facility dedicated to serving local residents. To safeguard its long-term future and maintain delivery of vital services, we are seeking funding to repair or replace the building’s full roof.
Your support is essential to securing the centre for generations to come.
About us:
We provide events and activities for residents of Platt Bridge, Wigan, and the surrounding area, with no discrimination based on sex, religion, political views, or other characteristics. Working in partnership with the local authority, voluntary organisations, and local residents, we offer a diverse range of opportunities. The centre promotes health and well-being education for the public good, while providing facilities for recreation, leisure, and social connection.
Why We’re Taking Action:
Our current roof has deteriorated and no longer provides adequate protection, so a new roof is essential to safeguard the building, its contents, and ensure long-term structural integrity.

Jo Robinson’s endorsement of PBCC
Platt Bridge Community Centre has a long and proven history of supporting local families through its consistent partnership with key services, including the former Start Well Service, the Children’s Centre, and now the Family Hub. Throughout these transitions, the staff team has remained steadfast in providing a warm, non‑judgemental, and supportive environment that truly sits at the heart of the community. The centre has continually offered a safe and trusted space for vulnerable families, ensuring they can access early‑help, family support, and community activities with dignity and confidence. Investment in the building is therefore essential to sustain and enhance this invaluable provision, enabling staff to continue delivering high‑quality, inclusive support within a facility that reflects the dedication and resilience of the services operating within it.
