For a a long time I've had the idea and plan to put the Raise a Smile project into motion. After I volunteered and worked on the Strong Soham Mums Calander in 2018. I really wanted to continue giving and using my skills to make a difference.
My plan is to design and create fantasy photo sessions with children that are suffering from terminal illness.
After liasoning with members of other Charities and Children wards, I was met with great enthusiasm and confidence that this would be a welcome charity project that would be a great addition to activities they could offer.
I have a great support network of people that are helping me to get Charity status, and it's a slow process.
But for me to really be able to get this project off the ground I need, volunteers funding and on going sponsorship.
I want to offer amazing Fairytale experiences and build an extensive range of wardrobe, props, wigs and custom items. So the children have an experience that they could only dream of!
I want to work with hospitals and hospices in the Cambridgeshire area to begin with but my vision is to expand and cover the country.
Funding that is raised will go towards building up the resources we need to offer the sessions, marketing materials for hospitals and parents aswell as frames and art work for us to present families that have taken part.
I really want to do this but without funding it will be impossible to move forward. I know I can do it, but without fundraising and public support I'm afraid it won't work.
