Aim

Can you help fund vital sessions for children with Cerebral Palsy, and adults with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, stroke and brain injury?

What a year it has been for The Rainbow Centre!

Continuing to work with the children and adults we support during a world-wide pandemic has been extremely difficult to continue, but we DID IT!

With all of our charity fundraising events cancelled, and most of the country in lock-down at some point, we have continued to provide daily virtual sessions for our children and adults throughout the entire year. We have provided each of them with a vital lifeline, a structure to their day and a reason to keep focused and working towards their latest personal targets. Working with elderly people in isolation has also ensured that they see a friendly face and have a reason to get up each day.

Here is some wonderful feedback from just one of our families;

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of the support you have given us this half term. I really appreciated that even though we were in shielding and unable to attend the Rainbow centre you were still proving a 5* service.

The phone calls you gave us just to check in and to give any advise needed were really appreciated. We were also really pleased with the emails giving Matthew targets as these motivated us to keep up with Physio at home.

When the online program became available so soon into lockdown we were pleasantly shocked at the turn around the team did to ensure everyone’s needs and abilities were met from afar. Matthew really enjoyed his 1:1 sessions and I think it was very important that you stared each session the same way to build a routine but also so that Matthew knew who was on the zoom call.

We also loved having a little virtual visit with his friends at the centre and this really made him smile.

I loved that the group session with Anna we followed a similar routine to a session at Rainbow. It was brilliant that she planned her lessons so far in advance and sent them out a sit gave us plenty of time to prepare the items we needed and find the correct book or sensory item. It was also lovely to have a few minutes at the end of the sessions for the children to have snack and for us adults to talk.

Song dance and sensory was really good. Matthew enjoyed dancing to the music and seeing his friends.

We have loved this loved this current online plan over the others in the past. That does not mean they were below amazing this way just worked very well and made us feel most connected.

We really look forward to coming out of shielding so that Matthew may return to The Rainbow centre and spend time in person with all his favourite people."

Could you help us to continue to provide this amazing service?
