After the success of our Red Brick Angel album, Raie are recording album number four in London and Belgium to launch in Spring '27

'Still Runnin' Wild' a beginning ... 

Following the success of their third album Red Brick Angel, which entered the Grammys in the Country and American Roots Music category, and which has now also just been snapped up as a full album by a UK based Sync company, RAIE are back in the studio with ten new songs - and perhaps one last-minute, free-style eleventh! 

This new album moves through the changes, joys and pain of a life lived across extraordinary decades, told with that unmistakable RAIE touch: political and personal storytelling carried through soulful Americana music 

An autobiographical album at heart ...

At its heart is the story of a woman who grew up in the aftermath of war and came of age amid enormous social and cultural change - from Vietnam, the Cold War and the collapse of British industries to the music revolution of Dylan, Hendrix, The Stones and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. It is also an intimate story: of leaving home at sixteen, becoming a young mother, experiencing homelessness and hardship, and finding a way forward through resilience, love and music 

Music had always been there. As a teenager, Raie sang songs learned with her guitarist brother to lorry drivers in motorway car parks in exchange for food and lifts towards London. Years later, she finally found the confidence to form a band, and the story of RAIE began 

The album team ...

That story now continues with a remarkable group of musicians who have already been celebrated by Blues Matter Magazine, R&R magazine and many others for previous RAIE albums  

Award-winning engineer and producer Wes Maebe - www.wesonator.com - joins MD and guitarist Jon Dunn, guitarist Jon Klein (Siouxie & the Banshees, Sinead O'connor, the Bat Cave and current production and world tour with Jah Wobble) violinist, pianist and keys player Tim Gardner (world tours with Ry X and Kerola Dust), new to the band bassist Tom Caton and drummer Neil Felgate, violinist Clio Harwood (Man Woman Chainsaw and Miss Universe), cellist Talia Hunter, banjo player Edwin Bell and vocalists Nazarene (writer / producer of Souldstation UK tour), Nathan Devonte and Emily McLean joined by Oggie Ekaragha. Together, their magic will create an album rooted in Americana, but alive with soul, edge and the lived experience behind every song; between them, they have world-class skills and individual experience of over 150 years in the industry

The schedule ...

RAIE begin recording at London's GMS studios in mid September where they'll put down kit, bass, guitars, keys and strings; in November Jon Dunn and Rachel will travel to Belgium to record lead vocals at The Wheelhouse - Wes Maebe's own brand new 'state of the art' studio and backing singers will follow in December back at GMS to complete the recording by winter 2026; the album will launch in the spring of 2027 - and we would love you to be part of making it happen.

By supporting the album, you will be helping to pay for the the following; the cost of hiring the London based GMS studio (generously offered at 'staff reduced rates), the session musician rates, musician expenses including travel, engineer costs and post production work on the recording as well as production of the hard copy CDs and digital upload album.
