To raise funds for flying displays at a free 1940s event, which commemorates RAF Harrowbeer (in Devon) and all those who served there.
The RAF Harrowbeer 1940s Weekend is a follow-up to the hugely successful 70th Anniversary event held in 2011. The aim is to celebrate the role that Harrowbeer served during WWII and to enjoy the sights and sounds of the 1940s.
Because it is held on 'common land' the event is free for all to come and enjoy and therefore relies on donations to pay for everything at the event (toilets, attractions etc). This project is to raise funds for a Dakota flying display by the Battle of Britain Historic Flight at the event.
The total cost (including insurance) is £1,200 so put simply, that's 120 people with £10 each. If we raise over that amount, we may be able to have the Dakota on both days.
