Aim: To build a Half Way Pit Stop and patio behind the 10th tee, this would supply refreshments to all golfers and visitors.
We have been open since 1902 and for many years have talked about building a half way structure on the course for the use of our 750 members.
We would like to build a minimal maintenance structure approx. 4m x 3m which would have electricity, this would be open to all members, including juniors, and be used everyday behind the 10th tee from early morning to early evening depending on the season. We would use it for our club open days and golf days that raise lots of money for local charities. It will be securely locked when not in use, we envisage a roller shutter over the door.
It will house drinks and snacks vending machines and a coffee machine which members can use each time they play. It would also be large enough to house a small kitchen unit/surface and to store the club BBQ. It can also be used by visiting societies and groups from other clubs. We hope that this facility will attract more groups and societies to Radyr therefore increasing our revenue over the year.
There will hopefully be a small patio alongside the structure with stunning views across the golf course and surrounding areas.
At present we erect an old tent structure for these events which is no longer fit for purpose and in itself would be expensive to replace.
