The Radio M29 24 Hour Bank Holiday Bev-Athon

Aim

We are holding a 24hr broadcast to raise fund for our studio upgrade for our volunteer radio station.

We are a local community radio station a CIC staffed by volunteers broadcasting to the M29 are and beyond via internet radio. We provide a full range of programming from Friday at 6pm through to Sunday at 9 pm - with local interest stories, entertainment, music etc. We send roving reporters to local events in the area, advertise projects and initiatives run by other CICs and keep local residents up to date with whats going on in their community. As well as providing listeners with community information, we also give local people chance to create their own shows, socialise with others and be part of the community station.

Our current project is to raise £3,000 to upgrade our studio equipment to broadcast quality in order to push on to our goal this year of growing the station and obtaining a DAB radio licence to be able to widen our listener base and further legitimise the station as a place to hear whats going on within our community. We will be doing this crowdfunding by running a 24 hr broadcast "Radio-thon" on the station on Bank Holiday weekend 27th and 28th August, hosted by our Station Manager and Breakfast Show stalwart Bevan Thompson for the full period .. he will be fighting back the tiredness to entertain, amuse and will do literally anything (dont tell him i said that!!) to rasie funds for the station!
